About This Site

This blog is about recipes, that I have come across in China. Genuine Chinese food, the real deal, not just "Chicken Sweet Sour" but food from different Chinese provinces, with different flavours: spicy, hot, numbing, fragrant. You will also find my European experimental recipes - that I have found somewhere and adapted or just made up. It is up to you to decide whether they work. Eating also means restaurant reviews, so look out for critical views on places in Newcastle, London, and maybe even in China or other places.

I am crazy about China - Chinese music, Chinese movies, traveling the country, almost anything really. I spent 7 months studying in Beijing in 2010 and went back for a work experience this year. China is where I want to be but while I can't at the moment, I would rather spend my time telling you about all the great things China and Asia have to offer.

I love cooking, eating and writing. So why not blog about food ? Close behind are movies, musicals and music, so I might digress now and then into my passions with an 'M'. Since I like to talk about anything and everything, other topics might pop up - but mainly I tend to always return to food.

I am a BA graduate in Transcultural Communication for English, German and Chinese. I just graduated from Newcastle University, where my subject was International Multimedia Journalism (MA). I am currently living in London - for now.
